Warning Labels and Cable Coloring

High voltage cables are typically colored bright orange, but may be blue or yellow. Hybrid and electric vehicles can be dangerous. EV technicians wear thick insulated gloves when working around high voltage components.

Signs are posted. Protective goggles, aprons, and dielectric boots protect technicians from hazards associated with high voltage cabling and components. Codes of practice, standards, and manufacturers guides are followed. Only trained and certified electric vehicle technicians repair high voltage EV components and batteries.
Warning labels

Manufacturers use cable coloring, warning labels, and signs to warn technicians of possible hazards. They apply warning labels to engine apartment covers and near fuel filler necks and charging ports.
